Just to help fill my bucket list and further my geekdom. I met for an autograph and a picture with the original Zordon from Power Rangers. Part of my childhood now feels complete.

So what happens when someone really dies on twitter?

So with the weekly trend of someone killing someone on twitter. Except for verifiable RT ‘s from respectable accounts. What happens if say Kim Jong Un would have really died today? I remember Steve Jobs and even Michael Jackson and hearing about it first from twitter. Now i’m not even paying attention to big events with so many pranks going on now-a-days on Twitter. What if one of the verifiable sources get it wrong. Eh, just an interesting quick thought for today.

So I picked up a Mac.

So the last time I had, had a Mac was way back with system 6.  I’ve used everything up to OS X since then but haven’t actually owned a mac since back then. So it’s the older style MacBook Air 11″ screen.  The one with the core 2 and no backlit screen.  I hate that I can’t fix anything if it goes wrong, the Ram is non replaceable or upgradable. internal battery, and so on, but in all honesty this seems like with lion it will be the perfect supplicant for my mobile computing needs.  In the end will the few pro’s outweigh the many costs? I’ll have to wait and see on that one, its a gamble.

Bloggers Block?

Is there a such thing as bloggers block? Cause I think I’ve had a good dose of it for the last few months. It’s not like a writers block, cause I could just grab any rumor out there and roll with it, no problem. But I just feel like everything is being over-hyped and over-played and I’ve felt like this for a few months now. Meh I just need to get over myself and get back in the saddle I suppose.

Lulzsec is smashing your internets with a hammer and your trying to hide an elephant in the room under a tablecloth.

So I keep seeing a new trend in the regular media where they’re getting “Experts” on ITSec talking about the new group Lulzsec.  The same rhetoric seems to keep coming out about them being a bunch of kids, having no skill, using simple methods and trying to discredit them.   Some of what they are saying is true but what everyone out there is failing to realize, or maybe not, maybe they’re just trying to misdirect the attention as usual to simply hide the elephant in the room under a tablecloth.

Taking down a website isn’t extremely hard one way or another, but most people don’t realize that so nobody does anything to take extra precautions.  Think about it for example: Amazon.com get’s taken out for an hour, what’s that equate to in lost revenue?  or a bank of telephone numbers used for processing cc transactions for small business gets hit with a continual stream of 1000 phone calls, or an 911 system getting hit similarly. Those are fairly unsophisticated attacks.

There is a lot of insecurity on the internet that a blind eye gets turned to because normal folks just don’t know about it.
This group of people from lulzsec I know I’m not alone in the IT world getting a bit of hoot from them because they’re out there not going after intricate attacks they’re just smashing crap with a hammer and showing it to the world.
So all they did was throw a rock at a glass house, guess what? your now out a house and have to spend the $$$ to build a new one, which you’ll probably make out of glass again cause people don’t learn anything.
